The invisible - Part 2

Part 2

Wow, you really handled having all the events happening at the same time, that’s a good example of time management – Beth said while trying to clean tomato sauce from one of the twins’ nose. Jon decided to walk back with Giorgio and say hi to Elisa himself, but shortly, to not disturb her family time. Once they were alone on their way to the table, Jon asked Giorgio about the colored hair girl that interested him. Giorgio’s eyes just shine for a second with the perspective; he was the testosterone-dependent version of a 7-year-old sassy girl, so he opened a huge smile and before Jon could say anything, he yelled Hey Julia, I have a friend to introduce you!” Then he turned to Jon and said – you will like her; she is Elisa’s primary school best friend Julia. She is very funny and smart; you will love meeting her!

Julia looked at them and smiled while they approached her, and Elisa ran towards the restroom. When they were almost there, Julia answered, also out loud – Well it’s perfect timing because I just lost my company to that third glass of Chardonnay we had! And both laugh out loud. Jon felt slightly better and immediately understood why she liked Giorgio so much; he had the same vibe as her childhood best friend. Jon just let himself go along, he was used to that type of energy since he started hanging out with Giorgio, anyway.

Well, I could never leave a lady alone, especially one that already had three glasses of wine – that could be potentially dangerous – Jon said smiling back to her and extending his hand to grab hers.

Giorgio went back to his family to sing along to some country song that Jon didn’t recognize and left him alone with her. Julia had sky blue eyes and an easy laugh, also some tattoos that he didn’t notice before because of her jeans jacket, that was now laying in the back of her chair. She seemed to be very comfortable with the situation and really engaged in a deep conversation with Jon, essentially about music. They found out very quickly this passion in common: she was a professional singer that had a band and was making her life with presentations in rock bars and clubs, while giving classes during the week; and Jons main hobby was to play his guitar. As a teenager, Jon wanted to be a musician, but his family always struggled with money, and he aimed for a career that could give him stability and conditions to take care of his parents in the future.

Julia was also enjoying the conversation, she usually avoids male attention just for the habit, her relationships history was short and not exciting; so, her focus has always been in other aspects of her life, like her music and road trips she enjoys doing by herself. She sees herself as a free and wild soul, that is constantly looking for a new adventure or an unknown place to explore.

Their conversation was just flowing, naturally and Jon was funny too, so they just kept making each other laugh to keep the conversation going. They didn’t even notice the time going by, until Jon’s friends interrupted their conversation to say good night. The guys left first, but Cas and Beth stayed for a couple minutes since the twins were in love with Julia. Apparently and weren’t going to accept bedtime that easy, not before playing with her hair and necklaces for a bit. Whenever the kids let their moms take them away, Cas blinked at Jon and moved her lips in a “I like her, good job”. Julia then realized she hadn’t seen Elisa anymore since they started speaking and also decided to say good night to him and go look for her. Julia kissed Jon on the cheek, which made him blush and putting a silly smile on his face, and then started walking towards the elevator.

Giorgio was still on the patio talking to their wedding planner about some details of the celebration the next day, and Jon briefly said good night to him before walking back to his room as well.

While he was on his floor, he saw Elisa standing in front of a room door, staring, without a move. She is probably drunk – he thought. He hadn’t spoken with her at all since he arrived, so he used this excuse to check on her, in case she needed any help. He called her by her name and Elisa looked at him smiling, before turning back and walking to the other side of the hallway. He started to follow her when Julia appeared behind him and said “Here she is! Rescue the bride!” while passing by him, laughing and running towards Elisa. Jon laughed too and watched her trying to keep up with Elisa that was already turning left on the corner. So, he continued to his door and saw Julia walking some steps back with a weird face. Jon yelled at her, “is everything okay bride-rescuer?”
